John Deere Website Reveals Woody Biomass Harvesting Positive Impact on Rural Communities

According to the John Deere Construction & Forestry woody biomass website a strong biomass industry in the United States can help revitalize struggling rural communities, which are oftentimes most adversely affected during an economic downturn.

The short video, “Harvesting Stronger Rural Communities,” under the “Why Harvest It?” tab on the site reveals biomass industry proponents’ insights surrounding the economic benefits that removal of surplus biomass from the forest floor affords, including long-term job creation and local economy stimulation.

Additional woody biomass insights are featured on the site’s “Expert Observations” section, including research on the harvesting and transportation of woody biomass, and commentary from Danny Dructor of the American Loggers Council.
